The Halloween High
Well even though Halloween doesn't even come for another 3 more hours, for those that live in Madison, the party is already over. This weekend was my 4th year I've celebrated Halloween in Madison. And it was definatley a good time. Started out the night with some pregamin with Cassidy, Shelley, Kayleigh, Pat, and Nicole, then walked all the way downtown because the bus never came. We lost Cass and Shelley, so Pat and I proceeded to Sellery to pick up Lindsey and Gina. Then we hooked up at a party with a bunch of friends, played beer pong (yes, I finally forced a bit of beer down), and then walked through State Street to get to Andy's apartment. State Street wasn't as kewl as I remember it to be. Just really bright from the stadium lights. Then we played strip poker at Andy's (I was too drunk/blonde to realize they were switching cards under the table, so I lost miserably), and then went outside on the dock and skinny dipped in the freezing lake! I am no longer a skinny-dipping virgin ;) We warmed up for a couple minutes inside, put back on our costumes, and then went on to walk the frickin 3-4 miles back to Edgewood, where we passed out to The Notebook. Today was mainly spent sleeping, watching the Packer game, and eating a 20" pizza. It was crazy huge- 4 of us could barely finish it! So all in all, it was a great weekend- minus the tons of people stayin in our dorm room. That got a little crazy... and very hott!

The Smocktober Slumps
So right now is prolly not a good time to make an update to the blogger- it wont be a very pleasant one for the few people that might read this, but it's on my mind. Arite... so I'm really enjoying Edgewood. Nice people, not an overwhelming campus, intimate classes, beautiful surroundings, awesome city, always something to do... you get the idea. Granted, not everybody loves a small college, but it fits me well I think. And I've made some really close friends here. And now I find out four of them are planning on tranferring. WHY you ask? Ya got me. No idea. And it's frustrating too, because okay- I wanna spend as much time as possible with them now, but whenever we have set plans, it's always like... "Oh I have a headache..." or "I got homework to do..." But c'mon! It's COLLEGE. A college kid is SUPPOSED to stay up late, and party on the weekends, and do stuff that wasn't so "by-the-book" like in high school. I thought I was getting the balance right this year: getting homework done, socializing with friends, joining clubs and intramural sports, partying. Maybe I'm just used to always being busy and pleasing everyone- maybe my friends aren't that way. Whatever... they're leaving soon anyways, huh? Mean thing to say- but I'm so frustrated right now. And then I hung out with a few friends from high school this past weekend, and both were saying how they made barely any friends and just miss the old gang from high school. I do too... but, I made new ones. I've moved on. But now, more and more since that conversation, I've been missing my old friends more- maybe since I realized I'll be losing my new friends soon too. Grrrr- whatever. I'll just keep pushing on through: doing the homework, joining the clubs, and going out... Everything happens for a reason. Something good will happen eventually. I hope.

October-Smocktober...
Finally it's October. This means we're finally "into" college. We can't really use the excuse anymore that "we're new freshman... we dunno what's goin on..." and now the classes really are starting to pick up the pace. The weather's getting colder (damnit), but that means I finally get to wear the cute new sweaters and jackets I bought. Though, this also means it's gonna start to suck more and more to go outside, especially walking all the fuck the way back from downtown after anytime after 11 30, cuz the stupid bus system doesn't run any later. Silly Madison Metro. October means that the countdown is officially starting to the biggest holiday for Madison students: Halloween. As of today, it's only 29 days until the big day. Me and my girls still have yet to purchase our crazy costumes, though we have already been trying them on. I was very tempted by a hot pink leather dominatrix outfit. If only I could find a whip... But we'll see what I really end up as. Last year I was a Slutty Schoolgirl, like 600 other girls downtown, so this year I'm thinking I should do something a little more unique. Though I must say, the outfit sure got myself quite the attention among the boys. This week is also Edgewood's Homecoming week. From what I can tell, it's not as big as High School Homecoming week, but I'll get back to you on that. Anyways, it's past midnight, and there's still much for me to do! Ttfn (ta ta for now).
